Buying online is the perfect way to buy, saving all that embarrassment of purchasing in a store or a boutique plus allowing you to browse 'til your hearts content 24/7. To make your selection a little bit easier follow our 3 step guide below: Step One - Sizing

1. Do your homework, we promise she will love you for it!

2. Have a discreet look in her lingerie drawer to see what the majority size is

3. Beware of pieces at the back of the drawer that you have never seen her wear! Chances are they don't fit her anymore. Choose the average size! If there are more Medium sized knickers then it's a safe bet to purchase a size medium from us at Fred & Ginger.

4. It is really important not to purchase something too small as she wont appreciate having to squeeze into it. Same goes for a purchase too large as she may be insulted.

The Fruit Test!

5. Bra sizes are also a little tricky since not one lingerie brand is the same when it comes to this. As we mentioned above, we do have a full returns policy on bra's so don't worry too much. There is one little trick we have learn't along the way which is to take the fruit test! However, please use this is a last resort if you have not obtained her bra size either from asking her or having a discreet look in her lingerie drawer.

• Plum - Is she cute and compact? She's probably an A or smaller
• Lemon - Is she Budding and beautiful? Try and A Cup
• Orange - Ample and Alluring? She's probably a B
• Grapefruit - Is she full and fabulous? Think C cup
• Cantaloupe Melon - Voluptuous and va-va voom? Probably a D or even a DD
• Honeydew Melon - Is she Bodacious and bountiful? Probably a DD or larger

If by any chance you do have it wrong even after our step by step guide then simply explain the lengths you went to to get it right, we promise she'll appreciate it!

Step Two - Style

Step Three - What to select

Now you know her size, style and colour it's now time to choose the pieces

It's important to think of her in this process and not just yourself. Remember She will look gorgeous and sexy in anything- it's lingerie and Fred & Ginger Lingerie at that!

You may think thongs are devilishly sexy but she may find them uncomfortable. or be self conscious about her bottom? A thong wouldn't be the best purchase if this is the case!

Look out for the following sensitivities;

Derriere: find something that doesn't hug the hips too much - a chemise or slip, Kimono or even our fluty french knickers would be perfect! Think loose fit.

Cellulite: Try not to buy anything too clingy over the area she is concerned about. Why not buy something that accentuates her back, or something with a plunging neckline?

Large Breasts: We are working on our collection to incorporate larger breasted women, however we do go up to an E cup in some styles. Your partner will really appreciate you giving her a beautiful large cupped bra- they are very hard to come by.

Please contact us if you cant find a large cup in the style you love - we may be able to get something made up for you.

She will need more support so steer away from our camisoles if she's more than a D cup

Hips or thighs: Choose something that flows over that area like our Negligee or Kimono.

Small Breasts: A demi cup bra can make any girl on the A-list feel voluptuous! Camisole's, Negligee's, ruffles lace and ribbon create the illusion of volume on top!

Upper Arms: Look for something with sleeves, our Bolero's and Kimono's will go down an absolute dream!
